MEMBER GRADE AND FELLOW GRADES
The top levels of membership of the IAEA are Member, Fellow & Honorary Fellow.
To achieve Member** level, you will need a comprehensive education/relevant training record, as well as being engaged as an engineer assessor in an automotive assessing role in connection with automotive damage claims. You will also have passed at least four of the Institute's written examinations (two of which may have been passed at Associate level) as well as having a current (less than four years old) Institute Practical Examination or equivalent*. You will also be engaged as an engineer assessor in an automotive assessing role in connection with automotive damage claims.
* ATA VDA holders, for example, but conditions apply
** Whilst studying for the grade of member, candidates must comply with the Institute's strict study guidelines in order to be granted and maintain Working Towards status. Working towards status is the minimum standard required by the ABI (Association of British Insurers) GTA (General Terms of Agreement) document.
Fellow A member who has rendered special services to the Institute that has been elected as a Fellow by resolution of a General Meeting of the Institute.
Honorary Fellow The distinction of Honorary Fellowship is conferred by resolution of a General Meeting upon a person, who is not a member of the Institute, that has rendered special services to the Institute and has agreed to become an Honorary Fellow of the Institute.
